Hosted by the Bayelsa Electricity Regulatory Agency (BYERA) in Yenagoa, the meeting brought together regulators, electricity providers, policymakers, business leaders, community representatives, and consumers to discuss the future of the state's emerging electricity market and what it means for residents and businesses alike.

As Bayelsa takes on greater responsibility for regulating its own power sector under the Electricity Act 2023, the session provided a clear and practical explanation of the opportunities, challenges, and responsibilities that come with a decentralized electricity framework.
